So, here we are. I assume you want to get to know me better if you’ve found your way to this page. Or perhaps your cat just jumped on your keyboard and you ended up here. Either way, welcome.
In case it wasn’t obvious, my name is Clinton, but my friends call me Clint. By day, I’m currently a slave to my desk, where I hack away at the keyboard attempting to write code that does smart things for government research contract work. I spend the rest of my time in search of good eating. You see, I’m more or less obsessed with food. Not in an unhealthy fast-food-burger-binge kind of way. But rather, I love learning about food and cooking and I’m constantly on the lookout for a delicious meal.
In fact, I nearly went to culinary school instead of getting my masters degree in Computer Science, but I was dissuaded by my mother’s gentle insistence that I would be poor, destitute, and unable to provide for a family. My mother not so subtly insinuated that I was completely insane for even considering the idea. And so, I set aside my dream of opening my own restaurant in favor of a more “practical” career.
However, the years since that fateful decision have not dulled my passion for food and cooking. If anything, the desire to devote myself to gastronomical pursuits has only grown stronger and more difficult to assuage. Because of this, and with some encouragement from the wife, I decided to enroll in culinary school and stop denying myself the exhilaration of reaching for my dreams. Which brings me to the purpose of this blog.
Here, you’ll find my thoughts about food, places I’ve eaten, cooking advice, recipes and more. Essentially, this blog serves as a way to chronicle my journey through this food laden life. My hope is that, in the process, I can help you become a better cook, understand the provenance of your food, provide some entertainment value, and ultimately help you also find good eating wherever you may be.
